It took over a year to complete the sale our mother’s house in Lincoln, in spite of the market being apparently buoyant early in 2022, the house being in a desirable area, and not needing to buy a house ourselves. The chain fell through once (not Mundys fault) and it took many months to re-establish a proceedable chain. Both times we were told by Mundys that our buyer was a cash buyer who didn’t need a mortgage. This wasn’t true either time, and both times it led us to accept a lower offer that we would otherwise have done, in the expectation that completion would be comparatively quick. Jim Peard (seller)
